Therapy Department
Family-centered therapy is a vital aspect of the Epworth Village, Inc. program. The therapy department consists of nine therapists, one of whom specializes in sexual abuse issues. All therapists are Masters Level and either provisionally licensed or fully licensed. A therapist maintains their licensure with continuing education credits. Overall, the department provides individual and family therapy for 77 clients. Each therapist also provides group therapy for all five residential units and three day treatment groups.
The goal of the Epworth Village, Inc. therapy department is to help youth and their families find solutions for their problems and help them deal with a myriad of issues they may be struggling with.
- Therapists use home visits and family therapy to prepare the child and their family for the child’s reintegration into the home.
- Therapists participate in the treatment planning process which includes other departments of Epworth Village, Inc., as well as outside agencies involved in the child’s life.
- Therapists help transition the client and family to another therapist when they leave the Epworth Village, Inc. treatment program.
