Direct Care (Residential Therapeutic Specialist)

Become part of a progressive dynamic treatment team working with youth with emotional and behavior disorders.

  • Full-time as well as relief/on-call positions may be available
  • Small cottage settings with 12 or fewer youth at various levels of care including psyciatric residential treatment facility, therapeutic group home, and child welfare group home
  • 8 hours shifts, 40-hour work week with 2 days off together
  • Growth opportunities include shift leader positions and unit manager positions
  • Plan and supervise recreational activities, off-campus outings, and teach life skills classes

As a vital member of the treatment team - a direct care staff helps:

  • To ensure the youth follow the cottage routines and rules
  • To implement the individual treatment plan for each youth in their care
  • Document treatment progress

Benefit package includes:

  • Medical coverage
  • Vacation time -- of 2 weeks per year, 3 weeks after 5 years, and 4 weeks after 12 years

Therapists

Epworth Village provides a continuum of care to youth in need of treatment for behavior and emotional disorders. Our treatment program is family centered with an Interdisciplinary Team working together to affect change.

  • Therapists provide individual, family, and group therapy sessions
  • Caseload averages ten clients
  • Professional growth opportunities include supervised hours to apply for:
    • Licensed Mental Health Practitioner
  • Agency-sponsored continuing education and training
  • Tuition reimbursement available

Benefit package includes:

  • Monday - Friday work week (with occasional weekend sessions)
  • Weekend rotation on-call every 8-10 weeks
  • Paid holidays
  • Paid vacation begins at 2 weeks per year
