Epworth Learning Center

Youth placed at this level of care present their primary difficulty in an educational setting. This service is open to youth that reside within commuting distance of York, NE. Youth must be of school age in grades 1-12 and may be either male or female. The youth reside in their home, foster home, or other agency. Such youth may have a combination of behavioral and academic challenges that require intervention outside the scope of the local school district.

All of the youth placed at this level of care have a verified handicapping condition recognized by the State Department of Education. These children receive services very similar to those meeting medical necessity although there is no set minimum number of therapeutic hours. They have an individualized plan that includes both educational and therapeutic services, as well as a transition plan back to their home school. The average time a youth is in this level of care is one academic year.
