Kinder Morgan Grant

Kinder Morgan Director of Community Relations, Allen Fore is pictured with students, staff and representatives from Epworth Village following a recent visit to the Enrichment Center; a partnership between Epworth Village and York Public Schools.
Paying his first visit to York was Kinder Morgan Director of Community Relations, Allen Fore. A scheduled business trip to Nebraska afforded Fore the opportunity to stop by the Enrichment Center; a recent recipient of a grant from the Kinder Morgan Foundation.
The Enrichment Center opened in 2002 thanks to a partnership between York Public Schools and Epworth Village which provides a teacher to the program through the use of Title 1 funding. According to Epworth Village President/CEO and York Public School Board member Tom McBride, the Enrichment Center’s programming, which includes credit recovery, has played a big part in declining drop-out rates which are now less than one-percent in York Public Schools.
McBride said, “The commitment by Kinder Morgan to help schools is phenomenal. We are tremendously glad to have this initial grant and to have Kinder Morgan’s Director of Community Relations take such a specific interest in our little program here in York, Nebraska.”

A portion of Fore’s visit was spent chatting with Enrichment Center teacher Mrs. Amanda Meade who spoke about the Center, the youth who benefit from programming and the Plato learning platform used by students.
A grant in the amount of $2,500 was awarded to the Enrichment Center by the Kinder Morgan Foundation which focuses on supporting youth programs in the areas of education, arts and the environment.
