Tenets

Epworth Village, Inc. believes that each person must be accepted and understood as an individual with inherent value.  To this end, each member of the client system, visitor, guest, employee and volunteer who comes to Epworth Village is treated with dignity and accepted into an environment of unconditional positive regard.

The family is the basic human community through which persons are nurtured and sustained in mutual love, respect, responsibility and fidelity.  Identified family resources encompass a wide range of options in today’s society, including single parents, adoptive parents, step-parents, and persons filling roles as parent substitutes.

Epworth Village does not assume legal guardianship.  The agency does, however, serve as a treatment provider for clients who have been referred for residential and/or education services.  We serve children, adolescents and families who meet the guidelines of our Target Population as outlined in the Epworth Village, Inc. Therapeutic Milieu.  We serve these clients without regard to demographic lines or boundaries.  Our mission is perceived as a moral responsibility, carried out within the context of the Christian commitment expressed by Epworth Village and guided by the following statements.

Statement of Purpose

Our purpose is to serve God by providing opportunities for success in a secure, loving environment that nurtures personal growth, individual and family strengths and responsibility for self and others.
