Angie Walker, Administrative Assistant
Angie Walker was born in Minnesota and raised in Virginia. She moved to York, Nebraska in 1997 after earning her Bachelor of Social Work from Ferrum College in Ferrum, Virginia. During college, she completed two internships that helped to prepare her for her work at Epworth Village, Inc. The first consisted of working with adult female substance abusers in a group home setting and then working in an after-school school program for inner-city youth in Roanoke, Virginia. During this time is when she realized that she wanted to work with children.
Angie began her employment at Epworth Village, Inc. in August of 1997. She worked in two of the Residential Treatment Centers during her first four years of employment and then in one of the Treatment Group Homes, before accepting the position of Administrative Assistant to the President/CEO in December 2005. "While providing direct care to the youth, I only hope that I taught the youth half of what they taught me. It still amazes me how much you can learn from someone so much younger than you, if you take the time to listen to them."
